FAQ
What is a Bijou Frame™?
A Bijou Frame™ is a single, seamless artwork — the frame and image are painted together as one continuous composition on archival canvas. Each piece arrives ready to hang, lightweight, and complete — no need for separate framing or glass.
Is this digital art?
Bijou Frames™ are created through a digital painting process — each piece is hand-composed with layered brushwork, lighting, and texture, much like a traditional painting. They are not computer graphics or 3D renders, but painterly works realized through modern digital craft, resulting in fine-art depth and detail.
What makes Bijou Frames different from traditional framed art?
Traditional art requires separate framing, moulding, glass, hardware, and time. Bijou Frames™ are designed differently: the frame is painted into the artwork itself, so each piece arrives complete, lightweight, and ready to hang with a single nail — preserving the look of fine framing without the weight or complexity.
What are the Bijou Frames™ Collections?
Collections group artworks by theme — each one a distinct world of inspiration. Petal & Metal, for example, pairs classic automobiles with botanicals, uniting human craft and natural beauty. Future collections will explore other subjects and moods, allowing you to choose the world that speaks to you. Each artwork within a collection is offered in several editions — or sizes — to suit different spaces. Begin by exploring the Collections to discover the art that fits your space.
What are Frame Editions?
Each artwork within a collection is offered in several editions — or sizes — to suit different spaces. Frame Editions define the scale, exclusivity, and presentation of each Bijou Frame™. The Campus and Standard Editions are open collections — accessible, lightweight, and ready to hang. The Collector’s and Gallery Editions are limited releases, individually numbered and archived for authenticity. Each edition carries the same level of craftsmanship, differing only in size, rarity, and intended setting.
What’s the difference between Collections and Editions?
Every Bijou Frame™ belongs to a Collection — such as Metal or Petal — the world of imagery you choose. Each Collection is then offered in distinct Editions — Campus, Standard, Collector’s, and Gallery — so you can select the scale, rarity, and presentation that best fit your space and lifestyle.
What sizes are available, and what are the ideal viewing distances?
Bijou Frames™ are available in four editions, each crafted for different spaces and scales:
- Campus Edition – 8×16 in (20×40 cm) and 12×15 in (30×38 cm). Best viewed from 2–3 ft, ideal for desks, dorms, and intimate spaces.
- Standard Edition – 24×30 in (60×75 cm) and 32×16 in (80×40 cm). Best viewed from 3–5 ft, suited for apartments and everyday living areas.
- Collector’s Edition – 32×40 in (80×100 cm) and 48×24 in (60×120 cm). Best viewed from 5–7 ft, offering presence and fine detail for refined interiors.
- Gallery Edition – 40×50 in (100×125 cm) and 60×30 in (150×75 cm). Best viewed from 6–8 ft, designed as statement pieces for spacious rooms or exhibitions.
All editions are realized on archival canvas with museum-level clarity, preserving brushwork and texture at every scale.
Can the same image appear in multiple Editions?
Yes. A single artwork may appear across Campus, Standard, Collector’s, and Gallery Editions. Only the Collector’s and Gallery pieces are limited and numbered, while the Campus and Standard Editions remain open — offering the same design at more accessible scales.
Where do you ship from, and how long does it take?
All Bijou Frames™ ship from the United States. Each piece is crafted to order, with production typically taking 5–7 business days before shipping. Once your artwork is complete, it’s carefully packaged for fine art transport and shipped with tracking provided. Please note that delivery time begins after production and may vary by location.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, Bijou Frames™ are available for shipment within the continental United States only. Recent tariff changes have created added costs and complex import requirements for art and printed goods, making international shipping temporarily impractical. We’re working toward secure, cost-effective solutions to serve collectors abroad. Join our mailing list to be notified when international shipping resumes.

Designer’s Note — About Color and Screens
Please be aware that colors may appear slightly different depending on the device you’re viewing them on. Some screens heighten contrast or saturation, while others soften tones. Every Bijou Frame™ is crafted with museum-grade color precision to capture the artwork’s intended balance, tone, and depth. The final piece will look spectacular in person — consistent with the artist’s composition and truer to life than most digital previews.
